Thanks for the question about your dispenser not working, sorry you are experiencing this problem, I will be glad to assist you.

There could be several reasons the water does not come out the dispenser, I will address some possible causes.

The most common reason is the water inlet valve located in the back of the refrigerator; it supplies water to the ice maker and the water in the door. This is a duel valve and part of it can fail while the other half still works (thus ice maker still gets water but door does not). When you push you container on the cradle for water do you hear anything? If cradle switch is working you should hear a buzzing sound from behind the refrigerator. If there is buzzing or humming it means power is getting to the valve, so either the valve is bad or the water reservoir is frozen. Try using a hair dryer and warming the reservoir located in the back of the fresh food compartment behind the crisper drawers. If you still hear the humming or buzzing and get no water, then the valve must be bad, and will need replacing. If you do get water after warming the reservoir then change the temperature settings.

Now if when you press the cradle in and you do not hear anything there could be a bad switch inside the dispenser housing. (When pressed in you should be able to hear a faint click sound.) If not I would recommend calling for service as this repair can get quite involved.

I hope these tips help, if you need additional assistance please reply with added details and I will be happy to respond.

I can understand your concern about the food freezing. The information you have received is good concerning air flow. Unfortunately, without a model number, I will not be able to provide specific information. This is usually an air flow problem but depending on the model it can be various types of controls that can cause this. For more assistance, a complete model and serial number will be needed and any additional details will be helpful. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for the model number. This is a more complex and difficult unit to service. I recommend adjusting the controls first before having the boards and sensors checked. In a lot of cases, this problem can be solved by adjusting the controls. Set the freezer slightly warmer and the refrigerator slightly colder. This should keep the air flow moving and circulating longer. If the problem still exists, I recommend having a technician come out to check for a stuck or broken damper in the diffuser, the sensors and the board. You can call 1-800-469-4663 to have a tech come out.
