Question and Answers

Q:

dual valve assembly 10659702993 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing sears I would be happy to help you with your refrigerator. Upon researching model 10659702993;

1)      Plug the refrigerator power cord from wall outlet.

2)      Shut the water valve off or turn off water source from home to refrigerator.

3)      Remove the back panel from the back of the refrigerator on the lower section were the valve is located. (This panel is usually cardboard.) The panel is secured by screws you must remove the screw holding the panel to the unit.

4)      Locate the water valve and remove the copper tubing off that is attached to the valve.

(Usually it can be removed with a ½ wrench) Loosen up the nut on the tube and pull it up, then the tube should be removable. (Some water may drip out)

5)      Remove the ¼ inch screws that are holding the vale in place.

6)      Pull the valve out and disconnect all the connectors that are connected. Disconnect the water lines on the valve. (Remember the order that you disconnecting the hoses since you will have to reconnect them in the same connections.)

7)       There is bracket attached to the valve with a smaller valve on it you will have to remove the bracket that the small valve is on from the bracket that is attached to the dual valve you’re replacing. To remove the bracket you normally have to pry it off with a screwdriver.

8)      Then just reverse the process using the new valve. The valve will have a push connector fitting were you can just push the water line in and it will connect without the threading or compression fitting.

I trust that this information will help you, thank you have a great day.
