Question and Answers

Q:

Water and Ice Dispenser will not operate properly 10659439801 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Refrigerator, Model: 106.59439801. From reviewing the details on your model, there is a water reservoir that consists of a long coil of plastic tubing that must be purged of air before water will dispense. Press and hold the water dispenser pad until water comes out. It could take 2-3 minutes before water will start to dispense. While holding the dispenser pad in you should hear the water inlet solenoid open and hear water running. Once all the air has been purged out water should dispense. If the water never dispenses I recommend calling for service to diagnose and repair your water dispenser.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the refrigerator to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.

Hello Gerry 93, thanks for the tips. I've been trying the 5 sec depress / 5 sec release cycle for several minutes each day with no success. I will try depressing the water dispenser for 2-3 minutes and see if that works. Otherwise I will call for service. Thanks again!
