Question and Answers

Q:

How do I replace the water tube for the dispenser in my Kenmore side by side refrigerator?

A:

You will need to remove the trim from the front of the dispenser. The tubing runs through a conduit from the dispenser to the opening through the bottom hinge on the freezer door.

Look closely along the bottom edge of the trim and you will see 2 slots to put a flat blade screwdriver tip into. Pry at these points and the trim will come off. With the tubing disconnected underneath the door, you can pull the old tubing out from the dispenser.

The only problem is in getting the tubing through the small hole in the bottom of the outer door liner and the hinge. You might need to insert a small awl or screwdriver from the bottom to guide the tubing through the hole.
