Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore side by side deminsions

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when needing the cubic feet of your refrigerator. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found that your unit is 22 cubic feet. If you have any other questions please let me know.

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

the cubic feet is not what I need. I need the Height at the hinge(top) the width and depth. This refrigerator is currently in a remote location and I have limited space and need to be sure the replacement is within tolerances. Thank you

Okay no problem just needed to know what dimensions you were needing. The length is 2F11.5, Width is 2F11.8, and the height is 5F8.0.

I do apologize we do not have access to the dimensions on the inside of the unit. We have the product dimensions as listed above. If you are looking for a replacement the cubic feet of the refrigerator will be all the information you would need to get to get a matching replacement.

are you telling me that you don't have the OUTSIDE dimensions? I measure as best I could the width (outside) in inches and the same with depth and height which would have been in the specifications when new as it is with all appliances today. I am not looking for Cubic Feet. I have limited space to put the Refrigerator. Never have I seen product information in "FT" My measurements are the outside dimensions.

Okay I did look at the product specifications and the dimensions listed in Feet are what the manufacture has given us. The length is 2F11.5, Width is 2F11.8, and the height is 5F8.0. This information came from the manufacture and is the correct dimensions for the outside of that unit. I do apologize.

I do apologize, but we have a certain system that the manufacture gives us that brings up the cubic feet of the unit as well as the dimensions of the unit in Feet. Also another way to check the cubic feet is by taking the 3rd number after the decimal, in which, is the 2 and add a 2 in front which will be your cubic feet of your unit. Your unit is 22 cubic feet according to the manufacture. We also have these dimensions as well. The length is 2F11.5, Width is 2F11.8, and the height is 5F8.0. I have double checked multiple times and those are the correct numbers.

Q:

Kenmore Refrigerator model 106.59297991 ice dispenser doesn't work.

A:

The ice dispenser has become almost indispensible for most of us. The good news is it is at least making ice. While you wait for the expert, you can check a similar question form a previous post if youi like. I attached the link below. Bear in mind the model is a bit different. Hope this helps!

I'm sorry you are having this problem. The information you have received is good. However, if you can hear the auger motor running, I suspect the coupler (# 9 in picture) behind the ice bucket may have stripped out. If the coupler #W10169511 is loose, it will need to be replaced. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . To remove this coupler, turn it clockwise. This has reverse threads. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, any additional details will be helpful and I will be glad to assist you further.

When the ice dispenser lever is pushed, there is no noise at all. My guess is that it is electrical, but I don't know which part to try and replace.

If nothing at all is happening, the problem will be electrical. A meter will be required and some voltage checks will need to be made. Voltage checks can be dangerous and unless you feel confident in your repair skills, I recommend having a technician make these checks. If you feel comfortable making these checks, first disconnect power from the unit. Now remove the top freezer door hinge cover and you will see a wire connector. Leave it connected. Place your meter leads in the connector where the blue and white wires connect but do not disconnect anything. Now reconnect the power and activate the dispenser. If there is 120 volts there it means the dispenser switch is ok. If there is no voltage there, either the dispenser switch has failed or the wire inside the door is broke. To check the switch, remove the dispenser cover (see picture). With the cover off, you will have access to the switch. Now press the actuator and check the blue wire on the switch and any white wire. If there is no voltage there, the switch will need to be replaced. If there is voltage there, it means the wire inside the door is broke. A technician will be required to make this repair. Now if there is 120 volts at the top door hinge connection, then the most likely problem will be with the auger motor # 2188242 itself. It is possible the wire inside the cabinet could be broke but it's not likely. The auger motor and switch are available at the link listed below. I hope this will help you. If you would like to have a technician make these checks, you can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out.

Q:

Does the replacement door chute, 8201649, for a refrigerator flapper door come with a heater tape?

A:

That's correct, the new flapper door kit will not have the heater tape attached. The heater tape is no longer needed or used on the new flapper door.
