Question and Answers

Q:

How do I eliminate the particulates in the water & ice coming through my water dispenser & icemaker?

A:

If the particles can be felt, then there will be problem with the icemaker mold, the auger assembly or the water tubing. Since the icemaker mold has been checked, it should be ok and leave the auger assembly and tubing.

If you can't feel the particles but see them floating which is usually the case, the problem is with your water supply, not the refrigerator. If these are tiny white particles, it will be calcium, which is in the water and can only be removed with a water softener. I suggest having a water sample taken. This will tell you what is in the water and what needs to be done to clear it.

Q:

Where is the water valve for the icemaker on my refrigerator?

A:

The water valve is located on the back of the unit inside the compartment with the compressor. There is a cardboard cover held in place with a number of screws. If you look on the back of the unit, the water line to the icemaker can be seen, running from the top fill tube at the icemaker to the bottom, connected to the water valve.
