Question and Answers

Q:

water dispenser 10659202990 Kenmore Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for your question. I am sorry the water dispenser has failed. First, verify there is water pressure to the refrigerator water lines. Verify the water filter is not clogged. Replace if needed. This issue is often caused because of a frozen water line from the reservoir(located behind the crisper drawer) to the dispenser or a failed water valve. First examine the lever to verify it seems to operate correctly when pressed. Listen to see if you hear the valve being energized when the lever is pressed. If it is being energized, but not supplying water, the water valve is most likely bad or the water line is frozen. If you press the lever and there is no click, then the switch assembly in the panel may have failed. The image below shows a breakdown of the dispenser parts. The panel can be gently pried off with a flat blade screwdriver to access the switch, but be careful not to damage the panel.   If parts are needed, they can be ordered at Sears Parts Direct. Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. The ice maker water line and water dispenser line are separate. If you're not getting water to the ice maker, I recommend running a contunity test on the water valve to verify that it's good, even though you're receiving water to the water dispenser. Here is a great repair troubleshooting video to assist you with your ice maker. You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread with more details if you require further assistance with this repair. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for your question. To replace the auger in this refrigerator, first disconnect the power. Now, pull the ice bucket out and you will see the auger motor cover (# 1 in picture). Remove the screws holding the cover and pull the cover out far enough to disconnect the motor connection. Now, remove the motor coupling (# 9) by twisting it clockwise. This has reverse threads. You may need a set of channel lock pliers to hold the motor shaft, while turning the coupling. With the coupling off, you can remove the screws holding the motor and remove it. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
