Q:

Trap door from ice maker in door 106.58912800

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your refrigerator. Upon researching model106.58912800; it like you may need to replace the door trap from the icemaker. When the door trap does not open it’s normally due to the locking tabs on the back of it have broken or worn out. There is no reset to the door trap. I have posted a link of the door trap to view the link click here.

I trust this information will help you, have a great day.

I know that it can be frustrating to have your ice maker stop working. However, you did not indicate whether or not the ice maker is filling. There are some test that you can do on the ice maker to find the problem. You will need an insulated jumper wire. Below I have provide an image of the test points and what they will do. If the ice maker won't do anything, it will need to be replaced.

If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

One ice cube was jammed in the ejector arm and this prevented the ice from being ejected. I removed the cube the best I could but I think a piece is jammed where I can't see it. Is there any way of removing the panel on the ejector section when I flip up the door to check it? Thanks

To be sure the ice is all melted you can remove the icemaker and run water on the ice. I am sending you an image showing how to remove the ice door and the icemaker.

The cold air that is circulated inside the freezer will defrost the ice over 1-2 days.

Removing the icemaker is fairly easy and will get you back in operation sooner.
