I understand your frustration, lets see what we can do for you. What is the setting on the freezer set at? Cause if its 0-25 that's too low, and that would be why your motor is freezing up. Try turning up the temperature and see if that help in anyway.

The motor is fine. Everytime I have had chip away at the ice that had clustered up in the shoot and around the stir arm. I have the freezer and refrigerator settings at the dot. Isn't that the "ideal" setting?

Q:

How do I remove dispenser face plate (part #21) 10658904801 Kenmore Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. Thank you for your question. I can understand how prying that cover could be a scary repair. All you need is a putty knife.
There are locking tabs at the botton of the cover. That is where we want to start. To prevent any scratching to your refrigerator,  I recommend applying a piece of tape to the along the putty knife.
Using the putty knife, slide it along under the cover and pop locking tabs out of place.
Now that the two tabs are released, lift cover up and off.
This should assist you in the removal of your front cover.

If you are not confident in making this repair yourself, I recommend a technician go out to your home. If you would like a Sears technician to complete the repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this helps you. Have a great day!
