This is not exactly what i was asking. The videos you snet me a link to talk about the two parts that I have already replaced. The question i was asking was that the water filter indicator light is blinking green which I have read to be the control panel. I was trying to confirm if a bad control panle would a) cause the indicator light to flash green and b) would it affect the defrost system. If the answer is yes to b then I need to know where the control panel is located and how to replace it. Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the taste in the ice and water. The most common reason for this will be from a plastic water supply line. If the supply line is plastic, it will need to be changed to a copper line. I would also recommend replacing the water reservoir # 2256126, which is located behind the crisper drawers. The reservoir can absorb the odor from the water that is stored in it. I hope this will help you.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thanks for taking the time to submit a question. If the freezer is working and the refrigerator section is not then the problem is likely a fan, defrost or air damper problem.

If neither the freezer or refrigerator works then the problem will likely be with the compressor or sealed system.

The fan, defrost or air damper can be economical to repair as a do-it-yourself project if you have a few basic tools. A sealed system problem is much more expensive and is not a do-it-yourself project.

Please reply with any additional details for further assistance.
