Thanks for the info. Just now getting back to the problem. I traced the problem to the coupling in the motor housing. The coupling came loose from the housing. I pushed it back in and every thing worked unti recently. The same problem occured. I looked more closly at the problem and could not determine how the coupling is locked in the housing. I reinserted the coupling again (it was so tight, as before, that I could not remove it). I am wondering if an ice jam occurs that the motor turns but the coupling does not and the coupling rides out of the housing. If so I don't see how a new motot would solve the problem.

Bob,

The coupler is spring loaded. If it is pushed down, it should pop up to engage the coupler next time the dispenser is activated. If the coupler fails to engage, I recommend checking for ice build up in the drive coupler. I have seen them freeze in the pushed down position. The image below will aid in taking the drive apart. Just click on the image to enlarge it.

I hoe this is helpful. Please let me know if you need further assistance on the refrigerator.

Thanks again. The motor does not look like the one in the diagram. The hex shaft goes directly into the hex coupling in the motor. The motor part # is 2322580. Attached is the parts diagram I found.

Bob,

I double checked the set up you have. I do not recall seeing this style. I recommend taking the motor cover off and inspect the motor mount. Also, look at the area of the coupler. The coupler should not come out without removing the holder. If it does, determine what is worn and allowing it to come up and disengage. If you get stumped, please reply below with some pictures. I will be happy to take a look at them and give you my opinion.

I hope this is helpful.

I am sorry you are having problems with the crispers drawers in the fresh food section of your Kenmore model 106.58149800 refrigerator. The drawers have a small trick to reinstall.

When placing the drawers on the rails tilt the drawer up in the front three or four inches then slide the drawer in along the rails two to three inches. Lower the drawer to level and slide in until it is closed all the way.

I have sent along a picture of the instructions for removal and reinstallation. If you are still having problems please reply to this thread and I will assist you further.
