Question and Answers

Q:

ice bucket won't come out of freezer door 10658023801 Kenmore Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

The release mechanism may be frozen. Try to defrost the area below the ice bucket. You may be able to defrost that area by blowing a heat gun or hair dryer at the base of the ice bucket. Use the low heat setting to avoid damaging the bucket or the door liner.

You may need to store your food and completely defrost that freezer door area by unplugging the refrigerator and leaving the freezer door open for 24 hours.

If the ice bucket still won't release after defrosting the base of the ice bucket, then the release mechanism is likely jammed. You will probably need to force the ice bucket off of the door and then replace any damaged parts.

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when water not flowing freely through the filter.

I can only surmise since I am not there.   The water flowing freely without the water filter and that is either you have the wrong water filter or the water filter is a bad one.

If you have further questions please let me know.
Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Hello again.

I forgot to mention in the last email and sorry to say but it could also be the water valve.    With out the water filter running, it could of gathered sediments into it and not get the pressure for the water to shoot through the water filter.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problem with the ice maker. There could be a few reasons why the icemaker is not ejecting the cubes:

  1. The icemaker may not be cycling
  2. The mold heater could be open
  3. The optic boards could be faulty.

This ice maker can be manually cycled to help determine the problem. To cycle this icemaker, remove the front icemaker cover to access the module. There will be some marked test terminals on it (I'm sending a picture with instructions). Now using a well insulated jumper, place it between terminals T-H and it should start to cycle. Be very careful this is a hot (live) check. If it starts to cycle, remove the jumper after about 5 seconds and continue to watch it. If it does cycle completely and eject the cubes in the mold, it indicates the icemaker thermostat is defective and needs to be replaced. It would probably be better to replace the complete icemaker though. If it cycles but won't eject the cubes, this will indicate the mold heater is not working and the icemaker will need to be replaced. If it won't cycle, there may not be any voltage to the icemaker and this could be due to the optic boards, below you will find an image to troubleshoot this. Some voltage checks will need to be made to determine this.

If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread.

I have this same problem. My indicator lights flash twice then pause even if I hold the door switch closed. The instruction page says to refer to page 5-9 for the trouble shooting chart. Could you add that attachment to this thread? thanks.
