Q:

Water from water despencer taste bad. 10657863801 Kenmore Elite Side-by-side

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
I am sorry to hear of the poor taste coming from the water dispenser, I know how frustrating that is to have occur.
If you have recently replaced your water filter and that didn't make any difference, I suspect that you may have algae buildup within the water reservoir. Algae can begin to accumulate in the water reservoir if the dispenser is not used on a regular. The water reservoir keeps the water chilled before hitting the dispenser. It's located behind the crisper pans inside of the refrigerator compartment. I recommend checking and replacing it if it's dark in color or appears to have algae.

Q:

106.57863801 timer location 106.57863801

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

When you mention "timer," I presume you are referring to the defrost timer or electronic control board? That would be the only timer this unit would have.

The defrost timer is a component of the electronic control board, which is enclosed within a control box on the back-bottom of the unit. The part number for the board would be W10210789. I don't see part number 483212 being valid, it could be an internal manufactuer number of sorts.

Anytime these boards come up, we highly recommend having a service technician involved because they are difficult to access and to replace if needed. If you are having a defrost issue with the refrigerator, this board may be needed, but the issue could also stem from a defrost thermostat or heater.

For convenience, I have included a blue link below that you may click on to be directed to the PartsDirect site to view and purchase the board if needed.
