Having the ice dispenser door working properly is important. I did some research on your model number but was not able to find an answer to your question. Your expert will be able to help answer your question. It may take 24-48 hours. I do hope that everything works out on the refrigerator.

Thanks for contacting ManageMyLife.com. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with the ice dispenser not working properly on the refrigerator. We are here to help. I suspect you have either a defective motor or there is a addition problem. You may have something not together properly. Therefore, I provide you the motor replacement instructions on the image below. I do not think the controller board is the problem. I hope this helps.

Same problem here but have the Whirlpool side by side GS6NVEXSL01. Same motor and control board parts by Whirlpool. I take the motor out turn it by hand back to original position and reinstall it, it will work for a few times and then jam again. Last thing I did was replace the motor and the dispenser control board at the same time and it lasted 2 days and same problem. The connector, support, and door all seem fine- could something be off just a bit to cause this to happen or could it be the other conrol board (fountain control board)? Any ideas. Tearing out my hair ;-) Thanks!

Eric, This is very strange. Changing the motor should have corrected the problem. Is there any frost or ice causing the problem. Also is the heater working on the door flap. That is what I suspect is causing the motor problem.

No. Everything else is working fine. There is not a heater on the door flap. Just installed new flapper, support, connector, and the 4th new motor last night and we'll see if it lasts longer than a few days. Do you know if the fountain control board has anything to do with the door? Thanks! Eric, I located a diagnostic sheet for the dispenser. Copy it on to the computer so you can rotate it around. The test will show any electrical dispenser problems you may not be aware of.

I posted the original question. Since then the door motor has started to cooperate. I'm not sure why this was. I should say the previous responses to this question were generally poor. The first repsonse was that I needed to reread the instuctions. The second was that it was frost or the door heater(?). Eric ended up installing 4 motors to get one that worked. The diagnostic sheet might be of some help, but fortunately I didn't have to go that far. I'll let you know if there are other problems with my unit.

Hello, I to have an ice door that won't open. Can you please re-post the instructions on how to replace the ice door motor? The image that is uploaded is very small and when I zoom in, it becomes illegible.

Thank you for your question. This tray can be a little tricky to remove. I'm attaching a picture with instructions to remove the tray. There is a tab under the back of the tray that hits a stop and prevents it from being pulled all the way out. To release the tab, lift up slightly on the back of the tray to free the tab from the stop and it will pull out. I hope this will help you.

Q:

How often do I need to change the air filter for a Kenmore Elite refrigerator model # 106.57789701? If so, what is the part number for it?

A:

I know how important it is to have the filter working in good working condition to filter out the water you drink. I did some research and I was able to find a link that will provide you with some good information. I am also adding a second link in where you can enter the model number of your refrigerator and a parts list diagram will pop up in where you can order a water filter. I hope this helps in getting the water filter while you wait for your expert response.

Hi,

Thank you for your question. It is concerning when the refrigerator is not functioning correctly. And there is not a air filter utilized on this refrigerator. Sorry the only filter is the water filter and it has an indicator to tell when to change out the filter. If you have more questions, reply to this thread and I will gladly assist you.

Thanks for your answer. I just bought a new Kenmore 31.0 cubic feet refrigerator and it does require you changing the air filter every 6 months. I'm bringing the earlier model to our lake house and it made me think that maybe I should have been changing its air filter also. Glad to know that's not needed. Thanks for your answer. It's appreciated.
