Q:

refrigerator gets too cold cannot adjust down, freezer works fine 10657703701 Kenmore Elite Side by side refrigerator

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your refrigerator and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 10657703701 and from your description I would suspect an issue with the air diffuser item 11. This part allow the cold air into the fridge from the freezer. If the damper is not opening or closing properly then too much air will be going into the fridge. Sometimes it will make a clicking sound when it will beginning to fail. Here is a link that may help with additional troubleshooting. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Q:

Changing water filter

A:

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the filter and I can understand your concern. Make sure to press the eject button all the way in. Sometimes it can be tight and a little difficult to push all the way in. Then pull the filter straight out using the filter cap. NOTE: Avoid twisting the filter cap when removing the filter because this could cause the filter cap to come off. If this occurs, replace the cap and pull the filter straight out. You may even try pushing the filter inwards after pushing the eject button, this may help free up the filter and then push the eject button again and pull firmly on the filter cap. What happens it the o-rings for the filter are dry and become drier. Then when you have to remove the filter, it is stuck. If you still can't get the filter out, what I recommend is to turn the water off to refrigerator first. If the end of the filter is broken off, you can drill two holes into the end of the filter one cross from the other. Then open a pair of needle nose pliers and put each jaw in a hole. While holding the pliers in the hole place a screw drive between the jaws and try to turn the filter. If this does not work, the only option is to replace the filter housing. Before installing the new filter, apply some Vaseline on the o-rings of the filter. This will keep it from sticking next time. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will assist you further.
