Q:

Rridge is to cold 106.57442700

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with refrigerator.  Upon researching model  106.57442700; based on the description provided it sounds like you may need to replace the thermistor. The thermistor sensor monitors the temperature in the refrigerator, when the refrigerator thermistor goes bad it can cool continuously causing the refrigerator to freeze the food. I have posted a link below of the thermistor key#6.

I trust this information will help you, Thank you for choosing Sears.

Q:

icemaker not filling with water 106.57442700

A:

Thank you for contacting ManageMyLife.com. If the icemaker has never been used, the taste can be caused by a couple of reasons. The water will absorb the plastic odor from the fill tube, which will go away with use. If the supply water line to the refrigerator is plastic, it needs to be changed to copper. Any other taste or odor will be from the water itself, not the refrigerator.

An icemaker not filling can be due to the icemaker itself, the water valve or in this model a diode. First cycle the icemaker manually and watch to see if it fills. To cycle this icemaker, pull the front cover off. You will now see a large and small gear. Turn the small gear counterclockwise and the icemaker should start. If it does fill, it indicates the icemaker is not cycling on its own and will need to be replaced. The icemaker can also be cycling but not sending a voltage signal to the water valve, to fill. If it is sending a voltage signal, the problem will be with either the water valve or the diode. A volt/ohm meter will be needed

There are some test terminals on this icemaker module, that can help determine, what the problem is. To access the module, pull the front cover off of the icemaker. You will now see the module and the test terminals will be marked (I'm sending you a picture). Use a well insulated wire and place it between the L-V terminals. Be careful this is a hot (live) check. With the jumper in place, water should flow to the icemaker. If water does flow, the icemaker will need to be replaced. If no water flows, make sure temperature to freezer is not too cold, the water valve will probably need to be replaced. A voltage check needs to be made to determine for sure. With the jumper in place, check voltage at the valve. The wires must still be connected to the valve, when making this check. If there is still no voltage at the valve, it will indicate a broken wire in the cabinet. In this case, it's not repairable. I recommend having a technician check to verify, if this is the case. If you need more assistance, you can respond to this thread with more details.

Thank you for your question. To replace the interface control board, first disconnect power to the unit. Remove the screws under the control housing to be able to lower it and access the control board. The control should be held in place with tabs. Free the tabs to remove the board and disconnect the harness connection. Reverse the procedure to replace the control. I hope this will help you.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services.
