Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. The gasket will pull out and push back in. The image below will assist you with this removal and installation. To make the gasket more flexible, you can use a hair dryer to loosen it up. Be sure not to apply too much heat because you can end up warping and damaging the gasket. You can also use hot water to loosen the gasket up for installation. I hope this helps.
