I can understand the frustration of experiencing an issue with your ice dispenser. However, there is no piston on this model. There may be ice build up along the edge of the door, if so while you have it apart it will be easy to clean. If the ice door is damaged here are the instructions for replacement; to replace the flapper door on your refrigerator disconnect the power to the refrigerator.

On the bottom edge of the trim around the dispenser are two notches for a flat blade screwdriver blade to fit and pry it off. Pry it off and lift the trim up to clear the tabs at the top. Let the outer trim hang by the wires going to it.

Remove the 2 screws holding the bracket across the top of the dispenser area and carefully swing the bracket back and out of your way.

Now you can see the cradle and the flapper door. The flapper door is held to the cradle by a pin and there is a spring on it. Note the position of the spring so you can reinstall it when you put the new flapper door in.

There is also a small ribbon connector that connects the wiring from the flapper door to the harness inside the dispenser area. Disconnect it and you can replace the flapper door. If you require further assistance please resubmit question with more details. I will be looking forward to helping you again in the near future.
