There is a chance that you have a problem with the control board. You can reset that component by completely unplugging the refrigerator from the electrical outlet. Leave the refrigerator unplugged for 5 minutes and then plug it back in. See if the refrigerator and freezer begin cooling properly.

I recommend that you check to see if the compressor is running. You should hear the buzz of the compressor. You can also check to see if the condenser fan beside that compressor is running.

If the compressor is running but the condenser fan is not running, then you will probably need to replace that condenser fan.

If that compressor is not running but the condenser fan is working then you could have a bad start relay or a failed compressor. Replacing the start relay on the compressor is a repair that you can probably complete yourself. If you need help completing that repair, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.

You can order parts from this page: Kenmore Refrigerator Model 106.56786603 Parts .

If the compressor and the condenser fan are both running, then you likely have a sealed system failure (bad compressor or lack of Freon). A service technician would need to repair that type of failure since it would involve the recovery and recharge of the refrigerant system. You can schedule service through this link if necessary: Sears Home Services .

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.
