I am sending you some information to test the optics on your refrigerator. The red optic beam you see in the refrigerator stops the icemaker from making ice when the ice bin gets full.

If the icemaker has no ice in the ice mold, the fill tube above the icemaker might be frozen shut. If this is the case, you can defrost the fill tube with a hair dryer. I am sending an image with instructions for removing the ice door and icemaker in case you need it.

If you have more questions reply on this thread and send the complete model number of the refrigerator. The model number you sent brought up 90 models of refrigerators so I am not sure which one you have.

Thanks for sending the model and serial number of the refrigerator. I see that your refrigerator does not have the ice dispenser in the freezer door, so you don't have the optic sensors. Be sure you check the fill tube at the rear of the icemaker for an ice dam. If the fill tube freezes up the ice mold can not fill with water. If the icemaker has no ice in it, the fill tube might be frozen. Fill the ice mold with water to the top of the cube mold and see if the icemaker freezes and dumps the ice. I am sending an image showing how to make the icemaker harvest and it should fill with water. This is a test using live electricity. If you are not completely comfortable doing this test, go to [http://services.sears.com/shs/category/repair?sid=MMLxexpertxmerch] and get a Sears technician to repair the refrigerator.

Thanks so much for your suggestions. It must have been a frozen dam in the fill tube. I used a hair dryer to defrost it and now it is making ice successfully! I was happy to be able to do this without having to pay for a service call. Thanks again...

When the icemaker fill tube freezes up it is sometimes because the water valve mounted on the rear of the cabinet does not turn the water off completely. If the fill tube freezes again, you should replace the water valve.
