Q:

no ice in kenmore modle 106.55649500

A:

Ice maker and water dispensing problems seem small, but after we get used to having these conveniences, it is disruptive when they fail. While you wait for the expert answer, you can consult with the owner's manual for some troubleshooting help. I use mine all the time. I attached your manual below. Hope this helps!

This icemaker has some test terminals on the module that may help determine what the problem is. To access the terminals, pull the front cover off of the icemaker. The terminals will be marked (see picture) and using a well insulated jumper, place it between the L - V terminals. Be careful this is a hot (live) check. With the jumper in place, water should flow to the icemaker. If water does flow, the icemaker # 4317943 will need to be replaced. If no water flows but you can hear a humming noise, the water valve # 4389177 will need to be replaced. If nothing at all happens, some voltage checks will need to be made. A technician may be needed to make these checks. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If you would like more assistance, additional details will be needed.

I'm having the same problem, but I've replaced the dual water valve & the filter. I can take the cover off the ice maker as above, and watch the gear turn & the lever raise up, but no water runs to it.

Q:

Door water works, but no water to ice maker 10655649500 Kenmore Side by side refrigerator

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

I am sorry to hear of the lack of water making it to the ice maker, I know how frustrating that is to have occur.

Typically in these situations, since we know the water supply line is good because the dispenser is still providing water, I am suspecting that the dual valve solenoid is defective for the icemaker portion and is not opening.

Since the water inlet valve is a dual valved unit, one valve supplies water to the dispenser and the other supplies water to the ice maker. Over time, mineral deposits can make the valves not want to open or close properly, in your case, not opening.

For convenience, I have included a blue link below that you may click on to be directed to the PartsDirect site to view and purchase the solenoid if needed.
