Question and Answers

Q:

ice maker not filling 10655386400

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears, I will be more than happy to assist you with your

Based on the information listed, it indicates the icemaker will need to be replaced. However, it's possible the water valve could be weak and not opening but it's not as likely. What happens is, there is a slight voltage drop through the icemaker to the valve and sometimes if the valve gets weak, it won't open but this does not happen very often. If there is a humming sound from the valve when the icemaker cycles but no water is flowing, it would indicate the valve needs to be replaced.

I hope you found this information helpful. Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

water is flowing, but it leaks from the bottom of ice maker. Also seems to be splashing as it leaves the water spigot as if obstructed. The leaking would explain why water was in the ice bin and had refrozen.

The link James sent you gives you an idea of the problems with replacing the auger. We do not have instructions for removing and replacing the auger. This work is usually done by a technician and they don't need instructions.

I advise you to look at the video Scott D sent the customer and see if it makes sense to you. You might want to consider buying a complete ice bucket instead of replacing the auger.

The complete ice container is part number W10312301, and the price is $128.75.

Q:

Why does water continues to flow through the refrigerator dispenser even after stopping it?

A:

When you release the lever and water continues to flow can be caused from a couple of reasons:

  1. Air in the water line
  2. Air mixed in with the incoming water
There is a simple test to determine if the air is in the water or trapped in the line. When you get some water from the dispenser using a clear glass set it on the table. Watch it for couple of minutes and if you see bubbles in it that means the air is in the water. You will need to have the water company out to check your water supply for this. If nothing happens then the air is trapped in the line. Air trapped in the water line can be difficult to remove. Sometimes running a lot of water through it will eventually remove it. If not you may have to remove the reservoir and empty it to get it out. If you do this first disconnect the refrigerator from the wall outlet and then turn the water supply valve off. You can now disconnect the reservoir and remove it. Be careful there will be some water spillage. Empty the reservoir and reconnect it. This should take care of the problem. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
