Question and Answers

Q:

What is the temperature range for freezer compartment 10655224400 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Based upon this Kenmore model, 10655224400, the temperature range for the refrigerator is 33 degrees F to 41 degrees F. The freezer temperature range is -5 degrees F to 5 degrees F.

The factory setting for both the freezer and refrigerator is # 4, depending on where the temp adjustment is currently set, it may need to be adjusted. A reading of 22 degrees within the freezer is too warm.

If the adjustment isn't working, I would check the door seal and make sure there aren't any rips to tears that would prevent a good seal. You may also need to check the electronic temp control board, or the compressor.

The evaporator fan motor (inside the freezer) will run when the compressor is running. If that fan motor is constantly running, there might be something going on with the compressor, and will more than likely need to be checked/serviced by a technician. It could be the freon levels with the compressor need to be serviced.

Hey John, thanks for the response and for using ManageMyLife.com.

Based upon the documentation for this model, you should have a digital setting for freezer and refrigerator temp control. So when I was referring to factory temp setting, that is what I was referring to. You have up and down arrows to adjust temp.

For visual reference, I have included the portion of the manual that refers to this and the adjustment. I have included visual as a thumbnail attachment below. Hi,

Thank you for your question. It is concerning when the refrigerator is not functioning correctly. If the icemaker is not working and if the water in the door is working, I would recommend you check the sensors to ice bucket first. Are the sensor lights blinking twice then twice more? The icemaker is controlled by the sensor lights reading the ice bucket ice level. If the water in the door is working, open the freezer door and look at the sensor lights, blinking or not. If the lights are not blinking, does the freezer light switch turn the freezer lights off and on? If so, there will need to be some troubleshooting, of the sensor boards, and the power to the icemaker. If you are up to it and have a meter to read volts and ohms, I will assist you with the checks. There will be power and resistance check made.

Reply to this thread and let me know if you want to do the checks or if you would like a Sears Home Services technician out to troubleshoot and repair the refrigerator.

Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the icemaker stops working. The information you have received from Marc is correct and may help solve this problem. Now, the only 2 ways the water dispenser would affect the icemaker would be if, the valve leaks water internally, to the icemaker when the dispenser is activated or if there is a short in the wiring. Both of these situations would be very unusual. A technician may need to check this. I'm listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this site and I will be glad to assist you further.
