Q:

Where is the wire diagram and why won't my refrigerator defrost?

A:

The wire diagram on these models is usually behind the bottom grill, next to the condenser. If it's not defrosting, you can manually advance this unit into a defrost cycle, to check the board. To advance the board, press the on/off pad and filter reset at the same time for 3 seconds. It should now be in the diagnostic mode and you will need to advance it, to the defrost cycle. Defrost will be step 6 and to advance it, press filter reset for 2 seconds or until it beeps. If it's still freezing or has frost on the back panel, you should hear some hissing and popping after a few minutes. This will be the ice melting on the element. If you do hear this, it indicates the board # 8201659 is not advancing and will need to be replaced. If the board will not advance into the test cycle, it also means the board has to be replaced. This board is available at SearsPartsDirect . If the board does advance but nothing happens in the defrost cycle, some voltage checks will need to be made. If you need more assistance, please resubmit your question, with additional details.
