Thanks for the question about the ice maker, I will be glad to assist you.
It would be helpful to have a model number off your product, without this I can only give a general answer.
At the back of most ice makers there is a fill trough. This trough collects water from the fill tube and allows it to run smoothly into the ice maker mold. If the trough gets frozen, the water from the tube has no place to go except off the edges and will run down inside the freezer compartment.
Inspect this trough and clean out any ice buildup, if this problem re occurs, the most likely problem is the fill valve.
I hope this helps, should you need additional assistance please reply with complete model number off the refrigerator and more details, I will be happy to respond.

Thanks Ron H.

Thanks. I really don't know what I am looking at. There is nothing that shows where the cooling lines go. Maybe that means that there is nothing to worry about? I am not looking for a guarantee but just an expert opinion.

Thank you for your question. I understand your concern about drilling a hole in the cabinet. I see you are aware this can void all warranties. There is a yoder loop (refrigerant line) that does run along the side of the cabinet. Unfortunately, there is no diagram indicating where it's located. I would not recommend drilling a hole in the side. There are no refrigerant lines in the refrigerator (right side) door. I hope this will help you.
