Setting the proper temperature on your freezer is very important to keep your food lasting longer. While you are waiting for an expert answer, i recommend you look in your owners manual for instructions on how to set the temperature on your refrigerator. Adjusting the temperature settings can take awhile. The numbers do not represent a specific temperature but rather a range. For instance, it comes preset at the factory setting. This setting should keep the freezer temperature between 0 - 5 degrees and the fridge between 36 - 40 degrees. The previous information sent to you explains how to go about checking and adjusting the controls. If you would like more assistance, additional details will be helpful.

There is no specific temperature associated with the numbers on the control. The settings are preset at the factory for normal temps in both sections. For the freezer, it will range from 0 - 5 degrees and the fridge, from 36 - 40 degrees. To get the desired temperature, let the unit run for 24 hours and check the temperature in the freezer. To properly check the temperature, place a thermometer between some packages. Air temperature is not a good check. To check the fridge temperature, place a thermometer in some liquid. After checking the temperature, adjust the control and make the same check again after 24 hours. You will need to do this, until you get to the temperature you desire. The control 5 - 0 will be the air control and 0 - 5 will be the thermostat. First check the temperature to see what it actually is. Then you can adjust the controls accordingly. For more assistance, additional details such as the temperatures will be needed.

Q:

No air flow 10653606202 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your refrigerator. Upon researching model10653606202: This type of problem is usually the result of poor air flow. Poor air flow can be caused, if the defrost system is not working, if the return air vent gets restricted (iced up) or if the damper is closed. First check the back panel in the freezer for frosting. If it's building up with frost, the problem will be with the defrost system. As the frost gets thicker, the air flow to the fridge section decreases causing it to get warm.

If the panel is not frosting, check the air flow out of the diffuser in the fridge section. If it feels weak, adjust the damper control toward the coldest setting which should open the damper completely. If there is no difference in air flow, open the freezer door. With the freezer door open, if the air flow increases now, it indicates the return air vent is restricted. In this case you will probably need to turn the unit off for a while, to allow the vent time to thaw out.

I trust this information will help you, we appreciate your business thank for choosing Sears.
