Question and Answers

Q:

how do i just the water level in the my ice maker 10653602202 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your refrigerator and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 10653602202 and if the icemaker has a screw you are able to increase or decrease the amount of water being released. The amount of water that changes is very minimal. If you are having too much going into the icemaker you may have an issue with the water inlet valve item 10. Here is a link that may help with additional troubleshooting. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Q:

Why does the ice in bottom of ice maker bin keep freezing up and preventing ice from dispensing? 106.53602202

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand the frustration with having an issue with you unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

I’m showing that something isn’t sealing properly on your freezer side. It sounds like it could be the flapper for the ice dispenser. Make sure when that flapper comes down after use it goes back up. If it doesn’t go back up, or take too long, then therein lies you issue.

It’s a somewhat difficult repair in replacing that flap, although there are repair videos out there to assist you, and you might night it very simple.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663.

If you have any further questions or concerns, you will have to post a new question. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

The ice maker works, but wont dispense the ice. 106.53602202

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your fridge and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 10653602202 and it sounds like the problem is the auger motor or the coupling in the ice container. To diagnose the problem, someone will need to test the voltage to the auger motor. If you have a volt/ohm meter and are comfortable testing live voltage.

You should remove the ice bin from the freezer door and open the door. Hold the plunger on the door switch in and depress the cradle to dispense ice. Look at the coupler that turns the auger to dispense ice to see if it moves. This will tell you if the auger motor is trying to run. If the auger motor is running but the auger in the bucket is not moving or just barely moving, it will usually indicate the auger motor is weak and will need to be replaced.

The flapper door opening tells you the switch in the dispenser is working. The next step is to test the voltage to the auger motor.  I hope this information helps with your troubleshooting. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.
