I know it can be frustrating when the control panel no longer responds on the refrigerator. You can try resetting the board by disconnecting the refrigerator from the outlet or switch off the designated circuit breaker for 2-3 minutes. If that doesn't help, then the control board will need to be replaced. If you are referring the control on the dispenser, the front cover assembly will need to be replaced (p/n depends on the color of cover you have). If it is the temperature control that is not responding, then the microcomputer/control board (p/n 8201527) will need to be replaced. However, this is a very expensive part and I would recommend having a technician check this first, to verify it.

The information you have already received is correct. This will be an air flow problem. The air coming out of the diffuser will be too weak to cool the fridge. If it's not much colder then room temperature, then the freezer should not be cooling either. The air blowing in the fridge section is directly from the freezer coils. This could be a return air problem. When checking the air flow out of the diffuser, open the freezer door. If the air flow increases, it indicates the return air duct is restricted (usually iced up). In this case, turn the unit off for awhile to allow time for the return air vent to thaw.

If the air flow remains weak even with the freezer door open, it will indicate a problem with the, sensor, the main board or the damper (gate) inside the diffuser. Sometimes the gate linkage will break and not allow the gate inside the diffuser to open. In this case there is an updated baffle # 2216112 that will correct the problem. A meter will be required to check the sensor and board. If you would like more assistance, additional details will be helpful.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
