Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the ice dispenser stops working. If the motor does nothing at all and there is no humming sound, it could be a defective motor, switch or control. A good check will be to press the ice lever in slowly and listen for a clicking sound. If you do not hear this sound, it could be a defective switch or the actuator is not making good contact with the switch. This can be determined by removing the dispenser cover. With the cover off, you will be able to see both the switch and actuator. Be sure to disconnect power to the unit first. I'm attaching a picture with instructions to remove the cover.

If you do hear this sound, the most likely problem will be a defective motor but a voltage check for both ac and dc voltages will need to be made, to determine for sure. A technician may be needed to make this type of check. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question. Replacing some parts can sometimes be a challenge. Unfortunately, there are not instructions for installing this motor. If this is a kit that includes a mounting bracket, there should be some instructions included with the motor. If this is just the motor, it should attach to the mounting bracket the original motor is mounted to (see picture). The fan blade on this motor will slide off of the shaft. Pay attention to the position, so you can place it back on the new shaft, in the same location. For more assistance, if you can send a picture of the motor and any parts that may be included, I will be glad to assist you further.
