Question and Answers

Q:

The handle on my fridge broke off how can it be repaired 10653206201 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your fridge and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 10653206201 and when you say the handle broke off, I imagine that the handle can not be reused. The handle can not be repair but it can be replaced. Items 14 and 15 will slide away from each other exposing item 13 the screws. You will need to remove the screws and this will allow you to install the new handle. I hope this information helps. If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Q:

Ice Maker not making ice 10653206201 Kenmore Refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your ice maker is not making any ice. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information that will assist you. I recommend testing the ice maker to see what is wrong.

1. Check the temperature of the freezer becasue if it is fewer than 17 degrees F it wont make ice.
2.Check if your water fill spout is plugged with ice, if it is then it wont make ice.
3. Check to see if water is getting to the water inlet valve.
4.Use an OHM meter to check the continuity of the water inlet valve. If it does not have any continuity then you need to replace your water valve. If it does then the icemaker itself is the problem and may need to be replaced.

More and likely it is your dual water valve. Here is a link to the valve when you are ready to order.

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry you are having this problem with the fridge. If its not cooling at all, it first needs to be determined if the compressor is running. If the compressor is running, the problem will probably be in the seal system or with the compressor. It could be a low charge, a restriction or the compressor may not be pumping properly. These are checks a technician will be required to make.

If the compressor is not running, it could be a problem with the starting device, the compressor itself or if the condenser motor is not running. If the motor is not running and the compressor is very hot, the motor will need to be replaced. If the motor is running but not the compressor, sometimes it can be difficult to determine if the problem is with the starting device or the compressor. If the starting device is burnt or if it rattles when shaken, it will indicate the starting device has failed. A technician will have a kit and meter, he can attach to the compressor, that will determine if the compressor or starting device has failed. Without this kit and meter, a chance can be taken to replace the starting device. If the compressor still wont run or if it runs but then quits again, it will need to be replaced. Im listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
