Question and Answers

Q:

REFRIGERATOR side is not cold

A:

Thanks for contacting manage my life about your refrigerator model 106.53203201; sorry you are having a problem, I will be glad to assist you. Based on the description you have provided it appears that there is a problem with the air diffuser. This is a duct door that opens and closes as need to allow more or less air to flow from the freezer to the fresh food section. If this diffuser breaks from ice buildup you can have either freezing or no cooling in the fresh food section.  The diffuser is located in the fresh food section top left side. You can inspect it to see if it is broken or just has iced up and blocking the movement of its door. If so just thaw it out, if it is broken replace it. I have attached added instructions below for your convenience. I hope this helps, if you need additional help reply with added details and I will be happy to respond. Here is a link to Sears Parts Direct. Here is a link to Sears Home Services if you want a technician out to make the repairs.  Ron H.

 Hi,

Thanks for contacting  ManageMyLife. I understand how frustrating it is having trouble with your appliance.

The problem sounds to me like the icemaker is overfilling.  Is your icemaker a 5 cube icemaker of an 8 cube icemaker?  If it is a 5 cube you may have gotten a 8 cube water valve and this will cause the overfill ice cycles.  The proper water valve is  2212374 for a 5 cube icemaker.

Please feel free to let me know if you need further assistance. We are always here to help.

Thank you for using ManageMyLife.com.

Bill, Yes I do have a five cube mold, also installed a substitute for 2212374 which is W10408180. I did not as of now verify the water pressure but by listening and also doing a visual on the water dispenser it seems to be fine. My delivery spout is not frozen up. I do have a small bridge that connects the cubes together, but very minimal, and no different than I remember since the unit was new. Upon dump cycle they break apart. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the icemaker control board dictate the flow amount? I'm leaning towards replacement of the icemaker due to the coating release from the mold. Just looking for your input based on the info provided. Regards, Keith

A:

No the modual icemaker you have is timer controlled. The receiver and emitter boards control only the amount of ice and shuts off the icemaker when the ice bucket is full. The cubes are bridged so the amount of water into the icemaker should be adjusted. But if the ice mold is flaking off you are correct in needing to replace the icemaker. Below is the link.
