Q:

Frost buildup in ice chute 106.52799100

Q:

drainage problem 10652799100 Kenmore Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the water leakage into the freezer and the ice accumulation. I know how frustrating that is.

This sounds like a defrost circuit issue, or a frozen drain tube, which is allowing defrosted water to leak. Based upon the details you’ve provided, I am not sure if ice is accumulating on the liner walls, or if the ice is a by-product of the water leakage. If the ice is from the water leakage, you will need to remove the evaporator cover in the freezer and clear the drain trough of the ice buildup so the defrost water can drain. If this is a reoccurring issue, a drain tube heater can be installed to correct the issue. The part number is 819043.

If there is ice on the interior walls, you will have an issue with the defrost circuit and it will need a heater, thermostat, or electronic control board after being tested to identify which is at fault.
