Is the micro processor the problem again? 10652552100 Kenmore Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

I assume you are speaking about the red led flashing inside the freezer on the right-hand wall. I must also assume the sender and reciever boards were replaced on April 7, 2014.  Since the LED is flashing 2 pulses and repeats tells us a second generation control was installed. Push and close the freezer door switch and it should quit flashing. If it quits flashing, the door switch and control is working correctly.

The new controls now have an automatic diagnostic mode that is entered any time the freezer door is opened. The LED should flash two pulses repeatedly while the freezer door is open and the icemaker is in the freezing mode. If the icemaker is in the harvest mode, the LED will flash single pulses once the freezer light switch is activated.

Since the icemaker mold has frozen water/ice in the ice mold of the icemaker and it won't start a harvest cycle and eject ice into the bucket, there could be an issue with the thermostat in the icemaker module. The thermostat must get cold enough to close and start a harvest cycle.

Also make sure nothing is blocking the beam/signal across the sender and reciever. If the signal is broken, the icemaker will not start a harvest cycle.
