Question and Answers

Q:

door handles 10652269100 Kenmore Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for being Sears’ valued member and for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kenmore refrigerator model 10652269100. I am so sorry the door handles need to be changed. I will be happy to help you with this.

SAFETY WARNING: Disconnect the power supply before beginning your repair to prevent the risk of electrical shock which can result in property damage, serious personal injury or even death. Internal parts may have sharp edges that can cause serious cuts. Use caution and wear work gloves. If you are not comfortable completing this repair, you can set up service at www.SearsHomeServices.com or by calling 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME).

To access the screws that hold the handle in place you will need to start by removing the handle trim pieces. I have included the link below for you to view the door parts diagram.

On the refrigerator door diagram the trim pieces are labeled as key 14 and 15. On the freezer door diagram they are keys 21 and 22. You will need a small screwdriver to work the edge of the trim piece away from the edge of the handle. Work carefully to avoid scratching the parts.  Once you have enough of a gap, you should be able to slide the trim piece off. Once the trim is out of the way you will see the screws that hold the handle. Remove those to take the handle off. Reverse the entire process to install the new handle. When you reinstall the trim parts you will need to line up the space on the back of the trim with the posts on the door. Make sure the tabs on the end of the trim fit under the end of the handle. I have located some online videos for you to watch that will make the process easy for you to complete.

I hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

Q:

my ice maker is not making ice 10652269100 Kenmore Side-by-side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your ice maker is not making ice in your Refrigerator. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information that will assist you in troubleshooting.

The icemaker in this model can stop working for a few reasons. Some are listed below:

  • The icemaker itself can fail
  • The water valve may not open
  • The optic boards can fail
  • The fill tube can freeze up
  • Freezer temperature not cold enough

The blinking led light can be flashing a code that will indicate the problem. If it flashes 2 times pauses and continues this while the door is open, it's normal. Now disconnect power to the refrigerator. To check this icemaker, slide it out, so the front cover can be removed, to access some test terminals. There is a clip located on the back right corner of the icemaker that will need to be removed, to slide the icemaker out. There will be a screw at the bottom of the clip holding it.

With the clip removed, slide the icemaker out and remove the front cover. You will now see the test terminals, which are marked (see picture). Now remove the 3 screws holding the receiver board on the right side and disconnect the harness from the board. Place a jumper between the black and black/white wires (see picture). Now use a second jumper and place it between the L V terminals on the module. Reconnect the power and with both jumpers in place, water should now flow to the icemaker (be prepared to catch water from the fill tube). If water does flow, the icemaker # 2198597 will need to be replaced. If no water flows but you can hear a humming noise, the water valve # 4389177 will need to be replaced. If nothing at all happens, some voltage checks will need to be made.

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you for your question,. Have a great day.

Thanks Natasha12, This icemaker has been acting funny. It had stopped making ice and I checked to see if it had water in the tray, and it didn't. I unplugged it and plugged it in and it started making ice again. It worked about a half a day and quit again. I checked to see if it had water and it did this time, the water was froze but the arm doesn't seem to be moving to push it out. Yes I would like some expert advice about this thing. Thanks, Mike
