Thank you for your question.  The good news is that if you replaced the relay and the compressor is running well enough for the freezer to work "very well"  I suspect the air damper is the problem.  Keep in mind that it will take at least 24 hours for everything to equalize and cool properly in both sections.  A defrost system problem would take a few days to bevome a refrigeration problem and from the description of the problem I don't suspect a defrost problem.  The Air Diffuser is the most likely cause of the problem.  The diffuser asemly is not very expensive and it works mechanically with a cam that turns when the knob is turned.  The freezer fan most be working for the refrigerator section to get cold.  No fan No cold in the refrigerator.  I hope this helps.  You can reply below with any additional details for further assistance.

William my first suggestion is to listen for the auger motor when you press the dispenser lever. You should hear the auger motor are at least a hum when the lever is pressed. If you hear nothing then I suspect either the switch is bad or the auger motor needs to be replaced. This is a difficult do-it-yourself and I would suggest a technician check and repair this problem.
