Thanks for the question about your refrigerator, I will be glad to assist you with this issue.
The thermostat in you model has a spring loaded contact and the sound of clicking is very normal. This clicking does not indicate any malfunction of the control. Some click louder than others and that is normal as well.
I hope this helps ease your mind, should you need additional assistance please reply with more details and I will be happy to respond.

Thanks Ron H.

Once you get use to normal appliance noises, it can cause worry when the noise changes or becomes louder. The link Yadira provided is excellent.

The clicking sound you hear is coming from the relay/overload mounted on the compressor. If the compressor is locked (stuck), the overload will make this sound when it trips, opening the circuit to the compressor. This is a safety to help protect the compressor.

Dirty coils can often cause the compressor to work harder and may cause the overload to trip. I recommend cleaning the coils to see if this helps eliminate the issue. This Article . has coil cleaning tips to help.

If the clicking continues to be louder after cleaning the coils, I recommend having a technician inspect and test the relay and compressor. These checks on a sealed system requires special tools and training. You can schedule a Sears technician here; Sears Home Services .

I hope this information helps to quiet the refrigerator noise. If more assistance is needed, please reply. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
