I'm sorry you are having this problem. If its not cooling at all, it first needs to be determined if the compressor is running. If the compressor is running, the problem will probably be in the seal system or with the compressor. It could be a low charge, a restriction or the compressor may not be pumping properly. These are checks a technician will be required to make.

If the compressor is not running, it could be a problem with the starting device, the compressor itself or if the condenser motor is not running. A meter will be required to check the compressor and start device. Unless you have a meter and are confident in your repair skills, I recommend having a technician make these checks. Im listing a site you can access, to have a tech come out. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services . If the motor is not running and the compressor is very hot, the motor will need to be replaced. If you would like more assistance, additional details will be needed. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

For this type of troubleshooting I have provided you with the step by step diagnostic check list with several component checks that may need performed by using a volt/ohm meter. I suspect a blocked fill line, water valve or ice bin sensor failure. Remember to disconnect power before attempting repairs & use extreme caution around voltage. Please see the image below for the icemaker troubleshooting service manual covering the icemaker in your Kenmore refrigerator. Parts if needed can be purchased at www.searspartsdirect.com

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How do I replace the overflow grille on a Kenmore model 106.51554101 refrigerator?

A:

The grill should just lift and pull out. You should not have to remove the face plate. To remove the face plate however insert a small screwdriver under the bottom corner and pry outward. Do this on both sides to release the tabs. Now lift it up and you can remove it. I hope this has helped you. If you need more assistance you can resubmit your question with more details.
