Q:

Why is icemaker for Kenmore refrigerator, model number 106.51272201, not making any ice?

A:

Core Issue: Why is icemaker for Kenmore refrigerator, model number 106.51272201, not making any ice?

Resolution: Here are some troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve this ice maker problem:

  • Make sure that the wire arm on the ice maker is properly positioned fully in the down position. If it is even slightly raised, the ice maker will not cycle. Try raising it fully up and then placing it back down. This may cause the ice maker to cycle after a few minutes.
  • Check to see if the mold of the ice maker is filled. If not, you could have a blockage in the fill tube. Try filling the ice maker mold manually with water using a squirt bottle or turkey baster. See if the ice maker module ejects the ice. If the ice ejects properly but the ice maker does not refill, check the fill tube for a blockage or freeze plug. You could also have a wiring problem or a bad water solenoid valve preventing the ice maker from refilling with water.
  • Fill tube frozen- fill tube freezing shut, will not allow ice maker to make ice. Moisture accumulation in fill shut with subsequent icemaker fill cycles. Fill tube can be located on ice maker, fitting tube dropping down to ice maker. You can defrost fill tube by place warm cloth around it, until it becomes soft and flexible. If problem persist, there may be an internal filling or solenoid problem. Contact service technician for proper diagnostic.
