Question and Answers

Q:

Model 10650592000 ice maker has ice cycles hanging from it 10650592000 Kenmore Elite Refrigerator side by side

A:

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Refrigerator, Model: 106.50592000. From reviewing the details on your model, from your description of the problem it sounds like the water valve is the problem. The icemaker you have produces 8 cubes per harvest. The water valve should only give 130cc's of water each time it fills. Unfortunately to cycle this icemaker and check the fill rate is very difficult to accomplish and it is typically more economical to just replace the water valve as most times it takes care of the problem.

Safety Warning: Before beginning the repair, disconnect the direct power supply to the refrigerator to prevent the risk of injury or any electrical shock.

If you don’t feel comfortable or confident in this repair, then you can have it repaired at home by a sears technician. I have the included a link to the website: Sears Home Services or call 1-800-469-4663.

I hope this answered your question. Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com, and have yourself a wonderful day.

Q:

water dispenser 10650592000

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com and being a valued member. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your refrigerator and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 10650592000 and it sounds like the water valve is not completely shutting off and may need to be replaced. It's very possible the water valve 4317943 could be causing this problem. If the drip is constant, it would lead to the valve but if there is a pause in between the drips, it would be caused by air in the line. Before you replace the water valve remove the crisper drawers and locate the chilled water reservoir behind them and check to see if you have an air bubble in the tank. If you do, many times this will cause the dripping faucet type effect from the air bubble moving in the tank. See if you can do a long purge of the water line by using a 2 quart container and running the water valve for at least a minute to see if you can get the bubble to purge out of the tank. There is natural air in water and sometimes it will collet and build up in the tank. Here is a link for a video that may help with some of the troubleshooting. Just click the blue link above to be taken to the page. I trust this information will help you.

Q:

Freezer working but no cooling in fridge 10650592000 Kenmore Elite Refrigerator side by side

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com. I am sorry to hear about the warming refrigerator compartment, I know how frustrating that is.

I think you hit the issue on the head with your details, if the evaporator fan motor inside the freezer is not circulating chilled air into the refrigerator, it will begin to warm. I would start by undoing the rear panel and check the fan motor. It may be iced up which is preventing it from spinning. It could also be dead, by using a mulitmeter you can check for continuity before replacing it.

Other possibilities would be a defective thermostat for the refrigerator compartment, a blockage of the air vent that cycles air into the refrigerator, or a defective air diffuser that opens the vent to allow chilled air in. I've listed these possibilities in order of relevance.

However, if you don't hear the evap fan motor in the freezer running, that definitely sounds like the issue. It should come on automatically within 40 seconds of the compressor turning on. The best place to start would be a visual inspection and current check with a multimeter.

I hope these suggestions help and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.
