Hi,

Thank you for your question. It is concerning when the refrigerator is not functioning correctly.

I would recommend you make sure the inlet water tube is not frozen up. If the tube is clear of ice, check the icemaker power to the smart valve. This to make sure the cam in the icemaker is working correctly. Next is to check the power at the smart valve and the volts DC to the valve from the icemaker. see pictures
NOTE: You should only check that live voltage if you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely measure it. Wear proper safety equipment (electrical safety gloves and safety goggles) when checking live voltage.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include more details in a reply to this entry below.

Thank you for your question. I know it can be disappointing when the water dispenser stops working. Unfortunately, without the model number, I will only be able to provide some general information. With most dispensers, listen for a clicking sound when the dispenser lever is actuated. If you do not hear this sound, the problem could be with the switch or the actuator is not making contact with the switch. If it does make this sound and if you can hear a humming sound from the back of the cabinet, it means the water valve is being energized. The most likely problem in this case, would be a defective valve. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and please include the complete model and serial number and I will be glad to assist you further.

Jason, thank you for the model number. This is the new version dispenser, which also has the smart valve and can be very complex to diagnose. This clicking sound from the back bottom of the cabinet could be from the main board. It also controls some of the dispenser functions. If you can hear a humming sound from the back of the cabinet when the lever is pressed, it will indicate the valve is getting energized. In this case, the valve # 2321753 will need to be replaced. If nothing happens (no sound), some voltage checks will need to be made. A technician will be needed to check this dispenser and board and make these checks. You can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out. I hope this will help you.
