Hi,

Thank you for your question and for letting me assist you with your repair.

To get to the screws holding the door handles to the refrigerator, you will need to slide the upper trim up and the lower trim down, be careful with the floor.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance please include more details in a reply to this entry below.
Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Q:

Why does my Kenmore refrigerator drip water on the freezer side and makes a sizzling sound, model number 106.50202990? Is this normal?

A:

In reference to your Kenmore refrigerator, model number 106.50202990;

Water dripping onto the heater during defrost, boils making a hissing / sizzling noise. This is perfectly normal and no cause for alarm.

Possible reasons for your icemaker not to work :

  • The Ice Maker Is Turned Off - Some ice makers have a switch, some have metal arms, others have plastic paddles.
  • No water supply to the refrigerator.
  • Low Water Supply Pressure due to Water Filter Partially Clogged.
  • Low Water Supply Pressure to the refrigerator due to reverse osmosis filter or well water source.
  • Ice Cube(s) Stuck in the Ice Maker - This can interrupt production.
