Question and Answers

Q:

Ice gets frosty and clouded, sticks together in holding bin. What might be the problem? 10644433603 Kenmore Elite Side by side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your refrigerator. Upon researching model number 10644433603; it sounds like there is air leaking in the unit. This can cause moisture to build on the ice. This will then freeze the ice into one piece.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Q:

Ice dispenser bin (caddy) will NOT release 10644433603 Kenmore Elite Side by side refrigerator

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. I regret to hear that you are having issues with your fridge and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 10644433603 and from your description you may need to try and pry or move the slider from the gap that is under the release button. If the mechinism is not working properly you will need to adjust to adjust the mechnisim or replace crusher bin mechinism (item 2 in the diagram) or the latch itself. With out damaging anything attempting to remove the bin you need to try and move or manupulate the mechnisim from under. I hope this information helps.  If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.

Thank you for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com.

Thank you for your question. The information you have received from Joesph is correct. I'm also attaching a picture with instructions to remove the dispenser cover. With the cover off, you will have complete access to the dispenser. For additional access, when the cover is removed, you can then also remove the bracket assembly # 15 in second picture. Be sure to disconnect power to the unit before removing the cover. Unless you find a broken support not allowing the door to close, usually replacing the complete door mechanism assembly # 8201649 will correct this problem. It's available at SearsPartsDirect . I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.
