Question and Answers

Q:

freezer bin 10644422603 Kenmore Elite Side by side refrigerator

A:

Thank you for choosing Searspartsdirect.com and being a valued member. I can certainly assist you in locating where the spring to your freezer bin connects.

To remove the latch release, push it in as far as it will go. Pick up on the center of the latch so the small incline clears the center support and slide the latch farther in. Line the notches in the latch up with the 2 supports and pick the latch up and out of the bucket base.

Slide the spring onto the finger on the latch and put it in so the notches line up and it will go into place.

The image is of a different style latch, but the spring goes on the same way.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I added the leveling instructions in the image below. You will need to open the door and remove the base grill to access the leveling screws/bolts.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Thank you for your question. The bucket in the door design can get frozen at times and can be hard to remove. This is because every time the door is open, the bucket is outside the freezer and the moisture it attracts will eventually start to freeze and can cause this problem. There is no specific way to get it free but a hair dryer will work ok, just be careful not to get it too hot. I'm also attaching a picture of the motor and ice container parts. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

Scott D, Can you send me the full blown parts diagram with part description for the picture you attached with your response? The motor now turns without engaging the rotor. I'm going to have to tear into it and the parts blow up would really help. I still can't get the ice bucket to disengage from the motor shaft and I'm assuming the latch mechanism isn't releasing? Do you know how it latches and what could cause it to not release?

The best way to see the complete parts diagram will be to click on manuals and enter the model number. Then click on this model number and it will bring up the complete parts list. Scroll down to the motor and ice container parts for the breakdown of the diagram above. If the bucket will not disengage, I suggest leaving the door open for awhile until the frost beneath the bucket thaws out enough to remove it. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, I will be glad to assist you further.
