Question and Answers

Kenmore model #10642106301 Too warm 10642106301 Kenmore Convertible freezer

Thank You for choosing Sears I regret to hear that you are having issues with your freezer and do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. Im looking at your model number 10642106301 and you could have a problem with that switch or with the freezer control. There is a chance that you could have a wiring failure between those components. If you have a volt/ohm meter, you can unplug the freezer/refrigerator and check the continuity through that switch in that freezer mode. You should measure continuity between terminals 2 & 3 and terminals 5 & 6. That information is shown in the second image below. The third image shows how to access components in that control (with the freezer/refrigerator unplugged).

If the switch is bad, then it will need to be replaced.

If the switch is working properly, then you should have power to the freezer control board. You can check the wiring connections. If the wiring connections are good, then you will probably need to replace that freezer control board. I hope this information helps you with your repair.  If you have further questions please resubmit your question for further information.
Thank you for choosing Sears
