Q:

Serial number 106171941 Craftsman Sears twin cylinder tank type compressor

A:

Thank you for the inquiry and for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

The serial number will be located with the model number on the identification label or model tag. For the age of this compressor, the identification label will typically be a metal tag and is usually located on the tank body or around the motor shroud area.

Hopefully that helps, but if you've located the model number from the tag, the serial number is usually right below the model number or off to the side.

Let me know if you have any further questions and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com.

Thanks, Josh, for the prompt reply. The only identifier on this unit is a prominent adhesive label citing the model number and operating specs, and the manufacturer's number, 106 (so, made by Campbell Hausfeld). I scanned it a second time, and found no other tag, plate, or evidence of a place that might have had one. I believe this machine had only one prior owner, and the paint looks original, in fact, the whole compressor looks almost new, but that owner could have removed a tag if it was bolted to the pump or motor base. The serial number was just a curiosity anyway, to date the unit, but one clue is that the parts diagram has a 1976 date. Again, many thanks for your answer.

Thank you for your question on the torque valve on the cylinder bolts.

The head bolts are 250-290 inch pounds or 21-21 ft. pounds.

The Cylinder bolts are 170-180 inch pounds and 14-17 ft. pounds.

I hope this will help you.
