There is no way to troubleshoot an inverter. You can ohm out the compressor to be sure it is good.

The inverter converts 120 volts ac single phase voltage to 230 volt ac 3 phase. The inverter will also lower the voltage on command to cause the compressor to run slower. The 2 low voltage wires to the converter determine the amount of voltage and the speed of the compressor.

The wiring to the inverter is:

Orange- neutral

Black- line

Red and white- control voltage from the main control board.

Black, blue, and brown- 3 phase 230 to compressor.

The three terminals of the compressor should read 10 ohms across any 2 terminals. These terminals should read infinity to ground.

Can you tell me what the control output is? 4-20mA, 0-5VDC, ect.. Also, I see no on/off control wiring to the inverter. I want to make sure that the motherboard is sending the inverter a signal.

al, I am sorry we are not given the information you want. If you are reading some dc voltage between the red and white wires, the control is sending voltage to the inverter.

I'm sorry the main control did not resolve this problem but a few more details would be helpful resolving this problem.

Refrigerators have changed and this refrigerator doesn't have the relay, overload and capacitor the older units have.

I'd strongly suggest a technician check and repair this problem.

If the main control was replaced then the inverter to the compressor is most likely the problem.

One thing that is not common knowledge is that the compressor might take 10 minutes to try to start. If you plug it in and nothing happens and you unplug it then the 10 minute countdown would start again.

Plug it in and wait. After 3-5 minutes you should hear the fan running. Hopefully this will resolve the problem for you.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

The inverter WR55X10490 is approximately $310 dollars.

I strongly suggest a technician check and repair this problem.
