Q:

oven control 3627526190 Kenmore Gas range

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear that the oven is not shutting off. I know how concerning that is to have happen.

Typically when the oven will not shut off via the control, the electronic board (clock) has a shorted power relay, and power is constantly applied to the oven.

A replacement electronic control and overlay will more than likely be required to solve the issue. The electronic control is part number WB27T10469, and the overlay is WB11K10002.

If you would feel more confident have a Sears Home Service technician help assist with the diagnosis/repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663, or click here to be directed to the page to set up service.

Q:

kenmore gas range - oven turns on without turning oven knob 362.73221201

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear that the oven turns on without turning it on. I know how concerning that is to have happen.

This type of problem is caused by a failed thermostat (part WB20K10023). Apparently, the thermostat is has a welded relay and is allowing current to be supplied to that igniter even when that thermostat is in the "off" position. Replacing that oven thermostat should fix your problem.

For convenience, I have linked the thermostat below on Sears Parts. Just click the link to be directed to the site to view and purchase it when needed.

Q:

Why is my Kenmore Range Oven model #362.7242 turning on by itself?

It sounds like you could possibly have a bad timer. the timer is what activates the range to turn on. If you are comfortable and confident in repairing the range your self the part # for the timer is WB27T10469. You can order parts for your range at www.searspartsdirect.com Note: Please use caution when performing a self repair.

If you need further assistance you can re-submit another question with additional details.

ARE WE SURE THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ACTUAL OVEN KNOB? MY OVEN COMES ON WHEN I AM NOT USING IT. YESTERDAY MY OVEN CAME ON ABOUT 6 DIFFERENT TIMES AND I WAS NOT COOKING. I WOKE UP THIS MORNING AND THE OVEN WAS ON. IT JUST COMES ON AT RANDOM TIMES. WHICH IS ALSO RUNNING UP MY GAS BILL AND I HOPE ITS NOT LEAKING "CO"
