Question and Answers

How do I adjust the oven thermostat?

First you need to have a good accurate high temp thermometer. Place it in the center of the oven and set the temperature on 200 degrees. Let it cycle at least twice to see what the difference is. Now set the temperature on 400 and make the same check. Let it cycle at least twice. It should be the same difference. To adjust the thermostat, pull the knob off of it and there will be a small screw in the center of the shaft. You will need a very small screwdriver to fit inside the shaft to turn this screw. Turn this screw clockwise to increase the temp setting and counterclockwise to decrease it and just turning it slightly can make a big difference. Hold the thermostat shaft when turning the screw or the shaft will also rotate and change the temperature setting. When you make an adjustment, let it cycle at least twice. If you need more assistance, please resubmit your question, with additional details.
