Q:

weedeater wont stay idling, dies when throttling up.

A:

I know how important it is to have a good working trimmer in the home so that you can keep your lawn nice and trimmed. While you are waiting for your expert answer, I suggest you add to the thread of this question and include the full model number of your appliance so that the expert can provide you with a more detailed answer. I did manage to find a link that will provide you with some good tips. I hope my link is useful.

Thank you for your question.

I can understand your dilemma with the engine dying.

It sounds like the low speed idle screw is set two lean and that's why it stumbles and die's when you throttle up.

The problem is it requires a special adjustment tool to adjust the needle mix screws on the carburetor.

If you can turn the low speed screw about a 1/8 turn counterclockwise it should correct this problem.

If that does not fix the problem you will need to rebuild the carburetor. (Carb kit)

If you will reply with the model number of you trimmer I will be happy to help you further.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for the update. I cannot see which carburetor adjustment tool you need because there are about 4 different pattern styles, depending on who made the carburetor. If you look at the link below you may be able to identify which one you need. Sam A.

Thank you for the update. If you can figure out which one you need I would only purchase one if you only have one machine to do the adjustments on. Sam A.

What does the H and L screw heads look like? Most craftsman will with use the Spline (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280704860550&hlp=false) or the Single D (http://cgi.ebay.com/HOMELITE-POULAN-WALBRO-CARB-ADJUSTING-TOOL-SINGLE-D-/120733905051?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c1c4d309b#ht_2426wt_1037). The double D has two flat sides instead of just one

Q:

Can I run the MOTOR on 110 v, or is is switchable?

A:

Wanting to know if your tool is switchable is always great to know. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, a suggestion I have is to visit Sears Parts Direct website to speak with a Sears associate to find out if you can switch it. I also notice your model number is incorrect. You can add model number to this thread so you can get a better answer from the experts!

Your compressor is designed to only run on 240VAC. There isn't any logical way around this situation as with smaller machines.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

On this model if the unit does not drain it will not spin. I recommend checking the pump first. If the water drains out but the drive motor does not run I suspect the timer. If the water does not drain out I suspect the drain pump.

Remember to disconnect power before attempting repairs.
