Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when replacing  the knobs and you weren't happy.   I have the original knobs which will show you.  I do have universal knobs that are supposed to work also that comes in a package deal.   The knobs do have an updated number for the original by the model but should be exact knobs and be very well, so sorry to hear you have had trouble.

I found the part, with the note about the part substitution. My question, which has yet to be addressed, is whether or not these are still the plastic knobs that crack so easily? We were terribly disappointed when we discovered our premium stove had cruddy plastic knobs the first time, then replaced them, and a year or so later, the plastic posts have all cracked around the metal sleeve insert, so the knobs just rotate in place without turning anything on or off. Sometimes the gas gets left on a bit as a result. Dangerous! Are these sturdier knobs? Are they still prone to the same problem?

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when I didn't answer the question to help out the first time.   Sorry you had to write back.

I double checked.  They are substituted knobs but guaranteed to be the exact ones to fit this model.   I saw pictures of the knobs and they look just like the original knobs.   They are improved knobs.   I have no way of looking the knobs up to see what the improvements are.   If you order and have any problems what so ever.  Contact us in Customer Care 1-800-366-7278,  or even call them first to verify.   We know this is the knobs to order per this model.   Customer Care gives 90 day policy to return parts if there is any dissatisfaction before they are installed.

If you have further questions please let me know.

At those prices, I could have new metal stems machined and mount them to the old knobs and not have to worry about having to order another set of knobs, unless I'm able to verify that the problem has been fixed. Who CAN tell me about that actual current knob? $30-60 a knob for a cheap piece of plastic that is just a temporary solution is not acceptable. If they can be guaranteed to last for years, that is one thing. 90 days is not sufficient. These knobs should not be breaking.

Thank you for your question. I was able to bring up several models with the part numbers listed and was then able to look at a similar model here. There appears to be 3 screws with 1/4 inch hex heads that will need to be removed. Then there will be a tab toward the back of the rail that will need to be pressed in, to enable the rail to slide out. I hope this will help you. If you would like more assistance, reply to this thread and please include the complete model and serial number and I will assist you further.

Diahanne, there are no pictures are instructions for this rail. This can be difficult part to remove. Unless it's damaged I would recommend not trying to remove it. However, if it does need to be replaced, first the drawer will need to be removed. This is a heavy drawer, so be very careful. Follow the directions in the owner's manual to remove the drawer. With the drawer removed, now you can remove the 2 torx head screws in the rail and then press the back tab in while pulling the rail forward, to slide the rail out. Now, remove the 4 hex head screws holding the cover in place. I hope this will help you. If you would like to have a technician make this repair, you can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out. I hope this will help you.
